A very important aspect of solid net play is the ability to reach the opponent’s passing shots. In order to do this effectively it is absolutely essential to position yourself in the middle of the opponent’s best shots every single time you hit a volley. This optimal position at the net will vary from shot to shot but the general rule is to follow the direction of your shot. If you hit to the right side of the court move to the right side of the center line. If you hit the ball to the left side, move to the left side of the center line.
