• Drill Objective:
o The main objective of this drill is having fun. While having fun the kids also work on their groundstroke, consistency and coordination.
• How to:
o The kids line up on the opposite side of the coach. In this video they are using only the mini court.
o The coach starts feeding the ball to the kids, he can either alternate between forehand and backhand or give each one a forehand and on the second round a backhand.
o The kids must hit the ball into the mini court. If they hit it in the net or out, they go to Jail, meaning they have to go to the other side of the net.
o Like the name of the drill says, it is possible to break out of the jail. To do this they have to try to catch the balls of the other kids, while in the air (no bounces allowed). If they manage to do that, they go out of jail (to the other side of the court (the hitting side)), and at the same time the player who hit the ball which got caught, must go to jail. This continues until one of the kids is the only one out of the jail and manages to hit the ball in the mini court without it getting caught by a kid in jail.
o Lower level (little kids), who have still difficulty to catch the ball you can allow one bounce before catching the ball when In jail.
o For Kids with higher level, who can play from ¾ court or full court, apply the same rules, but play from ¾ or full court.
